今回はMelanie Martinez待望の新作『After School EP』から唯一（9/25時点）MVがリリースされた『The Bakery』の和訳です🌸
『パン屋』という意味のタイトルで、完璧な外見、中身を無理矢理詰めようとしたり、高圧的なボスの事を歌っています。
Raise the Doughは、『生地をふっくらさせるために寝かせる』などスイーツを作る時に必要な課程の事ですが、『お金を稼ぐ』という意味もあります。
ちなみにこの曲はメラニーの実体験から来ていて、高校生時代に働いていたパン屋さんの事だそう。自分の芸術や音楽のために若い時から努力していたんですね。
生地を伸ばしたり、叩いたり、寝かせたり。お菓子作りの工程を想像しながら聞いてみるといいです🌸
