今回はMelanie Martinez のアルバム『K-12』に収録されていて、映画『K-12』にも流れる“Strawberry Shortcake”の和訳です🍰❤️
ロッカールームにいるCrybabyが自分と他の女の子を比べているシーンから始まるこの曲は、女性に対しての性的な目線や、男の子が我慢できずに襲ったり、綺麗にみせようとワックス脱毛をするなどと歌っています。ストーリーに直接関係しませんが、学校という社会の中で女の子達がどう扱われているのかがわかります。「スカートが短いから着替えろと家に帰された」は、実際に私服登校ができる学校で起きる問題で、肩出しやレギンスが禁止されている学校もあります。
